Feel cute while doing something dirty...

Professor Zook (my professor for my class on Politics of Southeast Asia) showed us this picture during class yesterday. When I saw it, I squealed quite audibly, "Aww! Oh my gosh how cute I want one!" All the people sitting around me happened to be dudes, so it was kinda embarassing...

But forreal tho, I want it! It would match the Hello Kitty soap dispenser and toothbrush holder in our apartment bathroom, courtesy of Amanda.

Hehe :P

The 2am question

I just got home a few minutes ago from a night out with some old high school friends, which is always a good time. We usually have big parties to celebrate breaks but with everyone leading their own busy lives we don't get around to it anymore. This time we ended up having drinks at Chili's, which was a more chill (haha.. get it? chill? at Chili's?) atmosphere.

Anyway, like I said I just got home a few minutes ago and it is now 2am. My mom is usually asleep at this time, but sometimes she stays up late to do laundry (as is the case tonight).

Well, tonight she asked me the famous 2am question:
"Did you driiiink?"

My answer of course, accompanied with an embarrassed flush on my face, was, "Well, I didn't drive!" HAHA.

Seriously though, my mom has been asking me that famous 2am question since I was 16. Somehow she always knows (or just assumes that I'm just always out getting drunk until 2am every night). It's these late laundry nights that always make me feel guilty.

Luckily, I am now 21 and I no longer have to feel (as) guilty hehe :P

LIFE IS GREAT. (:

PS, The guy who stands guard at my post is soooo fiiiineee! I knowww my girls agree.

Things I LOVE About Home

1. My fam, especially my niece. Nothing beats spending time with them, really. We're kooky when we get together!

2. Piano! I don't have a keyboard in Berkeley, so coming home is always a treat because I get to jam away on the keys. <3

3. My mom's AWESOME cooking. She told me that I am too skinny now (which is a lie because I am def not any skinnier haha) so she's been plumping me up on nothing but delicious dinner meals. Mmmm..

4. My best friend! He and I have a vibe different than other people, and even though we haven't chilled that much this break (cuz of school) we usually are on top of our game like no other. I love him!

5. Parties with the babygirls. They are some of the most down females I know. Try to out-drink us, I daaare you haha.

6. Driving my car. OMG. I love my car! The turbo on it is crazy. There's nothing like shifting gears with the windows down and driving way too fast for the speed limit, hehe.

7. Arlene's AMAZING massages! She's seriously the reason why I'm not more sick than I usually am (haha). Oh man, she is literally able to calm my nerves. (:

8. Carne asada fries. Omgahhh, my favorite food after my mom's cooking.

9. Going to clubs with my diva sister. She's got the hookups and all her friends always hook me up or buy me drinks. What can I say, we've got it goin' on (; haha.

10. San Diego weather. I wasn't gonna list this cuz I thought it was a given, but I guess nothing's really a given.

I don't want to leave in two days but I guess that's what happens when school comes first. Haha. For now I will savor each moment I have here.. Mm, I love home. (:

Nostalgia, maybe?

I was going through old blog posts (actually, I was on Xanga haha) and mannn I used to write a lot! Pretty much about my day, how I was feeling, etc. I was going through it with my bestfriend and we were talking about how it's a really good thing that I documented some of our best memories else we would've forgotten all the important details!

So I need to get back into that, writing about the best days so that I can read back on all of this and remember the greatest times.

One of my favorite funny memories from August 13, 2008:
Kicked the night off with Siene & Bjae watching Pineapple Express! Thanks Cyrene! That movie was hiiiiilarious. Omg haha funny thing.. So Siene and I bought 2 large sodas, one Coke and one Diet. We were sitting in the theater and I drank mine a grip and I was like, dude I think this is Diet.. But I asked Siene if his was Diet and he said yes. So I kept thinking mine was regular, but I couldn't stand the taste. So I finally was like, Siene I think mine is Diet! And we switched and I was right the whooole time.. HAHAHA.

Hahaha, maybe it was one of those you-had-to-be-there moments but seriously, that was such a great night. I miss nights like those!

So here's to documenting everything (again). Cheers!

Hello San Diego!

So I've been in San Diego since Thursday night and I must say that this has been such a great break so far. I can't believe it's already Tuesday! Anyway, I guess now's as good a time as any to catch ya'll up on how I've been..

UPDATESSSSS
1. AiR took 3rd place at the ICCA quarter-finals at Berkeley! It really was a great competition and all the groups worked so hard. I'm particularly proud of AiR for pulling it together and truly becoming a TEAM. We couldn't have won 3rd place without the right attitude (: But since we got 3rd we didn't get to advance to semi's. But it's all good, cuz we'll be heading down to UCLA for the California A cappella Festival that goes down in about two weeks. Wee, another road trip! (:
2. My brother's finally coming down in about a month and he's planning a Vegas trip. Speaking of, any females feel like going with me? Hit me up. (:
3. I've been doing pretty well in my classes. Pretty much did amazing on my first midterm, and the 3 that followed were all right as well. I think I have one more when I get back, and multiple papers to write.. Ugh.
4. I'm super happy being with Paolo. He's awesome. (:

Anyway, spring break isn't spring break if there isn't piles of work to do still. It's not so much a spring break as it is a catch-up. Hahaha. Soo, of courseee...

Things to do!
1. Endless paperwork to ensure that I could study abroad this summer. Seriously, ENDLESS. I'm super excited though.
2. Pick a topic on SE Asia for my 15-page paper due in about a month. Ouch.
3. Finish arranging (almost done with this one)!
4. Work on my property/liberty paper due in two weeks. Didn't realize it was so soon..
5. Keep a steady work-out routine! I've been really good with this one, actually.

Ugh.. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head. But that's all for now I think. I hope this was a sufficient update for ya'll.

As for now, I'm off to enjoy this beeeaaauuutiiiful sunny day in San Diego. Gosh, I love home <3

PEACE!

I'll Make a Man Out of You

Since I've been home I've been watching Mulan on repeat with my niece and I have to say that it really is a great movie. I'm really inspired by Mulan's ability to overcome adversity and whatnot.. Haha, yes I know it's all fiction but whatev, it's inspiring nonetheless. I think watching Mulan has been the perfect motivation for me to work out more (and trust, I've been working out way too much lately, haha).

Anyway, this really is the most inspirational video in my life right now:

I Love Japan Baseball!

ARTICLE - Japan wins against Korea 5-3

Today I did something I never really did before in life -- watch baseball! And it wasn't just any game. It was the awesome World Baseball Classic, played between Japan and Korea! I started watching during the 6th inning but from then on I was stuck (thanks RJ for teaching me baseball basics real quick). Anyway. JAPAN WON that crazy game in a 10th inning "overtime." It truly was intense.

Anyway, I now proclaim Ichiro Suzuki as my baseball hero. He really did carry his team to victory. He's such a crazy batter! But what I learned tonight post-game was that he used to be a pitcher (sorry if this is old news, I'm not really up on the baseball craaze). This is a crazy video from before when he played for the Seattle Mariners:

ICHIRO'S AMAZING THROW

There was even a commercial made in his honor:

But he really is great.

I'm glad he was able to take Japan to victory when Yu Darvish couldn't hold it down with his pitches (I'm innately a Japan fan because they created Hello Kitty. JK!.. Sorta). But I forgive him because Yu Darvish is my new Asian celebrity crush.

Mm, check out that jawline. Sexy. (;

Been a While.

A lot has happened to me as of late, but I've been way too lazy (or busy?) to update this thing. I'm currently just getting over being sick, yet school stops for no one. Midterms this week, and I'm finally going home to San Diego Thursday night (YESSSSSSSSS). That's about all I have time for, perhaps my spring break will warrant some time for an actual update.

Peace.
